State House poised to take up legislation on opioid addiction

West Virginia leads the nation in drug overdose deaths, according to a report released last year. With 34 deaths per 100,000 residents, the Mountain State more than doubles the national average in drug overdose deaths, according to a report from the Trust for America’s Health non-profit and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
