The report from the nonprofit Trust for America's Health and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation examines deaths caused by injuries, an umbrella that covers drug use, homicides and suicides, among other things. It found that half of drug overdoses, or 22,000 per year, are related to prescription drugs – abuse of which also has fueled a doubling of first-time heroin use from 2006 to 2013.
