Oklahoma ties with Arkansas at No. 8 on obesity rate

According to the fifth annual "F as in Fat: How Obesity Policies Are Failing in America,'' Oklahoma's adult obesity rate is 28.1 percent. That is an increase for the third year in a row. Adult obesity rates rose in 37 states in the past year, and no state had a decrease. Promising policies have emerged to promote physical activity and good nutrition, the report states, however, they are not being adopted or implemented at levels needed to turn around the health crisis.
