Unified effort needed to end the growing obesity crisis

Indiana just got a little fatter. Like 31 other states, Hoosiers ticked upward on the scale as reported in the 2007 Trust for America's Health
annual report. Indiana ranked ninth highest in adult and 15th highest in childhood obesity in this newest edition.
America lacks the political commitment to adequately address this crisis. Some believe that one's weight is solely a matter of personal choice and responsibility. With two-thirds of adults overweight or obese, personal accountability will not get us out of this mess.
The Trust's report reveals that the public believes that government should take an active role in combating obesity as a high budget priority.
